REFLECTION OF SECOND WEEK TEACHING PRACTICE

Reflection of second week teaching practice  ( From January 10 - January 15 )

   Second week of teaching practice was completed successfully. We have planned a programme which will make awareness in students. As a part of our BEd curriculum we want to do a school based activity for that we planned to set up a plastic awareness campaign. Arrangements for the concerned programme is going well. Overall, second week of teaching practice offered me a lot of sweet experiences than that of first week teaching practice. 

     

                 10th January reached school early and do our routines as such. I had class on 9E second batch for the 3rd and 4th hour . Due to the shift system we all want to took our lessons repetition. I taught them gravitation and gives them a follow up work . At afternoon we had conducted a group discussion inorder to decide what to do as a part of our school based activity. We finally reached a decision to conduct a drama based on a issue with school students and we seek permission from principal concerning the same. At the evening SPC parade was going at the school ground . It was a very nice day which realised me what we can do as a teacher beyond our syllabus.

 

       

       11th January I reached school with some concerns. It was the day SFI announced educational strike all over kerala. Yet we all reached school as per principal instruction and done our routines as such. That day was special for me because it's on the same day I had take my first class for 8th standard. I feel some tension during the starting of the class. But nothing happened unsatisfactory. I taught them the chapter waterthen I got a free period in 9E and started a new chapter Work, Energy and Power. School dispersed at 11:30 AM as a part of the strike . Then four of us from physical science cleaned and arranged science lab neatly and cleanly. It was also a nice experience.

        We also returned school by 2.30 pm as per principal's instruction. It was an unforgettable day in my life as a teacher . I steeped out from school with a fully satisfied mind.

                12 th January offered me some variety experiences. After the school routines I had no class during this day. So I went for observing class of Sreelekshmi in 8A.

             First years from METCA Institute of teacher education was also their inorder to watch that class. Four of us from physical science had decided to conduct a science corner and for that we circulated a notice for the whole 8 th and 9th class. I cleared students doubt based on science corner. 

This day was totally different.

     

       On 13th January after doing school routines we are assigned to go to the free classes. I had go to 8 E . It was my first experience to control a class. I asked them to read out their English chapter "Light on the hills " as it was their english period. After that on the 3rd period I had go to my class 9E and started new chapter Work, Energy and Power. It was a repetition class. It was a nice day.

 14th January was pongal holiday .

       15 th January we reached school. It was leave for both 8th and 9th standards. Yet we reached school as per principal's Instruction. We make a final decision based on our school based activity and assigned each one their roles. At 3rd hour I went to 6A inorder to conduct unit test. It was my first exam duty experience. I wrote questions on blackboard and after conducting exams I collected answer sheets and give it to Bindu teacher. It was an another variety experience for me. I got the opportunity to mingle with 6th standard pupils. Really it was a mind blowing experience. It was the last day for first years school induction programme from METCA institute of teacher education. They offered us sweets and after having a final click we say good bye to them.

  

         Second week of teaching experience provided me a lot of variety experiences. This week helped me a lot to truly realise what a teacher is. Now I'm truly realizing the nectar of teaching profession.
